ANSER, the Association for Nonprofit and Social Economy Research, is for those who have an interest in “research that pertains broadly to nonprofit organisations and the social economy”.ANSER aims to build a collaborative community of scholars and researchers, and to develop a Canadian body of knowledge that encompasses fields such as community economic development, philanthropy, nonprofits management, volunteering, social and environmental accounting, government/voluntary sector relationships, social movements, citizen engagement, and civil society.The group’s inaugural conference will be part of the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences 2008 which takes place from 4-6 June 2008 at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
