The college town hosted College GameDay for the first time, ahead of Iowa State’s rivalry game against Iowa. That game is threatening to really drag out. The game has now been delayed multiple times, due to inclement weather in the area. It’s really nasty out there right now, and most of Jack Trice Stadium has emptied out. The Cyclone students stayed put though…for at least a bit.Storm is right over us now in Ames. I’d bet we’re still an hour away from resuming. Iowa State answered quickly, with a five-play, 86-yard drive that took less than two minutes. After a few nice passes by Cyclones’ star quarterback Brock Purdy, La’Michael Pettway exploded for a 51-yard touchdown run to put ISU up 7-3.The two teams traded a few punts, and that is where we stand. Hopefully the battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy will get back underway tonight. Otherwise, it may wait until later in the season, if they have to call things tonight.last_img read more
